How do I know if a product is suitable for my water system?
Our products are advertised with a minimum rating for the recommended pressure in your home. Please see below for reference:
LP (Low pressure) – Minimum 0.2 Bar
MP (Medium pressure) – Minimum 0.5 Bar
HP1 (High pressure 1) – Minimum 1 Bar
HP2 (High pressure 2) – Minimum 2 Bar
HP3 (High pressure 3) – Minimum 3 Bar
It is always recommended to consult your installer before purchasing, but in general:
- LP systems are water tanks in your loft space with a hot water cylinder. These are older systems and are often used in older houses.
- Combination boilers typically run between 1 and 1.5 bar water pressure.
- Pressurised systems, sometimes called Megaflows, are usually 3 bar water pressure.
Products with a lower pressure rating can be used on higher pressure systems up to 5 bar. For example, LP products can be used on a Megaflow system. HP products cannot be used with a low pressure water tank without a pump.
